Poland man, 66, injured in shooting in Youngstown
YOUNGSTOWN — A Poland man looking for some female companionship ended up being shot in the stomach over the weekend, Youngstown police said.
Police said they were called to the parking lot of the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority on Woodcrest Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Saturday for reports of gunfire.
They found a 66-year-old Poland man bleeding from the right side of his abdomen. He claimed he had been shot by a woman, police said.
Police later questioned the man after he was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center and he told them he was driving through Youngstown looking for female companionship when he met two black females. They told him their names were Ashley and Tiara, according to police.
Police said the women advised him to pull into the parking lot on Woodcrest Avenue and they were “going to put on a show for him.”
The women, instead, punched the man and took his wallet, police said. The man said he ran and heard three shots. He went to a nearby apartment for help after realizing he had been shot.
Police said they found three spent shells in the area.
