Why is it not a title fight?

Who else is fighting that night?

World super flyweight champions Fernando Montiel (WBO) and Cristian Mijares (WBC) will defend their titles in separate 12-round bouts. Montiel will fight former world champion Martin Castillo, while Mijares will fight three-time world title challenger Jose Navarro. Also, junior middleweight contender Ronald Hearns will risk his undefeated record against Juan Astorga in an eight-round bout.

What’s next for Pavlik?

Pavlik will most likely fight Ireland’s John Duddy in June, possibly at Madison Square Garden in New York. It would be Pavlik’s first title defense. Duddy has a strong following in New York and Boston, so there should be a big crowd.
