Ursuline 65, Massillon 63 (OT)
YOUNGSTOWN — Senior guard Nick McCartney scored a career-season high 39 points in leading the irish (8-3) to victory over the Tigers in an overtime game. McCartney, who scored seven two-point baskets, connected on 22 of 27 free throws. Dominique Cole chipped in with 10 points. The Tigers, behind 39-35 after three quarters sent the game into overtime with a 26-23 spurt in the final eight minues of regulation play. The Irish won the overtime battle 4-2. Gio Cracillo led the Tigers with 15 points. Donie Irvin added 14, Justin Turner 13 and Trennie Richardson 10.
Cleveland Benedictiine 82, Chaney 56
CLEVELAND — Benedictine built a 36-20 lead by intermission and the Cowboys (3-9) couldn’t catch up. Nate Parker scored 15 points for the Cowboys and he had nine assists. Tyray Helms added 13 points and he grabbed 12 rebounds and had eight assists. Benedictine put 11 players in the scoring column with Derek Jackson and Cameron Wright leading the way with 22 and 19 points, respectively.
St. Ignatius 52, Boardman 39
CLEVELAND — Boardman (6-7) was able to score only four points in the first quarter and two in the third in bowing to St. Ignatius (7-5). Devron Martin sparked the Spartans with 12 points. Paul Sweeney led St. Ignatius with 16 points and Chuck Sweeney added 12.
Massillon Perry 59, Mooney 33
YOUNGSTOWN — Kenny Frease scored 29 points and Trey Thomas tacked on 16 for Perry (9-2). Frease, a 7-footer headed to Xavier University, was a force shooting and passing. The double-team attention Mooney gave Frease allowed Thomas, Perry’s other forward, to make shots around the hoop. Junior guard Ronnie Martino paced Mooney with 10 points, while Mike Gemma grabbed six rebounds for the Cards (5-6).
Kennedy Catholic 75, Warren JFK 58
WARREN — Kyle Randall poured in 32 points, while sophomore Jake Penn had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Kennedy Catholic. Randall also had five of Kennedy’s 13 steals, while Robin Hood dished out seven of Kennedy’s 21 assists. Aundra Jones added 11 points for the winners (7-8). Nick Brown’s 23 points paced Warren JFK.

Lake Center Christian 62, Youngstown Christian 48
HARTVILLE — Lake Center Christian, behind 25-23 at intermission, outscored Youngstown Christian (7-5) 39-23 in the second half to post the victory. Olonzo Johnson scored 18 points and six rebounds for the Eagles. David Colbert added 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Eagles, who felll behind when Lake Center made 48 percent of its field goals in the second half. YCS (7-5) was unable to match the Tigers as the Eagles shot only 37 percent in the final half.
