2 ribbon cuttings set

Ceremonial ribbon cuttings conducted by the Regional Chamber today were to celebrate the openings of two new income tax preparation businesses.

At 9 a.m., a ribbon cutting was planned for TAX 29, 1313 Boardman-Poland Road in Poland. Owner Andrew Reigstad said TAX 29 will give a free second opinion on any tax return that is self-prepared or prepared by another firm and will give price estimates over the phone.

In Niles, a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. was to celebrate the opening of Instant Tax Service, 6261 Youngstown-Warren Road, Suite 180. Franchise owner Michael B. Flugher said his office is offering a $25 grand opening discount on tax preparation services during January.

3-block renovation

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A development partnership will spend about $230 million to turn an automobile dealership site into an office and residential complex. Officials at DOC-Economou said they intend to spend $18 million to buy the former Don Allen Auto City site in Pittsburgh as well as some nearby property. The three-block project will include retail shopping, office and medical facilities, 150 upscale townhouses and condominiums, and a 120-room hotel, officials said.

Limited reports earnings

COLUMBUS (AP) — Limited Brands Inc.’s earnings for the current fourth quarter will fall within the lower half of its previous forecast after weak holiday season sales, the company said Thursday. When it posted third-quarter results Nov. 20, the Columbus-based operator of Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works stores said its fourth-quarter earnings would come in within a range of 90 cents to $1.05 per share. At that time, analysts were expecting $1.10. Wall Street’s latest estimate is for earnings of 94 cents per share, according to a Thomson Financial survey.
