Soprano from Warren
will appear in concert
GIRARD — Dramatic soprano Fedra Anastasiadis will appear in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Unity Church Centre, 1226 Naylor-Lloyd Road. Anastasiadis, of Warren, is a Dana School of Music graduate who has worked extensively in musical theater and opera. She has appeared with the Cleveland Opera. She will be accompanied by harpist Kirk Kupensky and pianist Kathy Miller in works of Puccini, Henkel, Yeston and others. A free-will offering will be taken. For more information, call (330) 539-0122
Art gallery’s exhibit
will close Sunday
NILES — The Art Outreach Gallery in Eastwood Mall will be busy Saturday night with two free events: the closing reception of the holiday exhibit and a concert by three local bands. The exhibit includes works in painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and graphic design. The bands People Sleep, Woodson and Lights Camera Distractions will start at 5:30 p.m. The gallery is across from American Eagle Outfitters, on the concourse between Macy’s and J.C. Penney’s.
Riverside Gardens plans
trip to Philadelphia
YOUNGSTOWN — Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens will sponsor a three-day trip to Philadelphia March 7-9. The itinerary will begin with a guided tour of the Morris Arboretum followed by dinner and a guest speaker. The Philadelphia Flower Show will be visited March 8, and the final day will include a trip to Longwood Gardens, which has 20 garden areas under four acres of glass. WARREN — Warren Photographic Society will exhibit prints of local and national scenes in a show that will run Jan. 19-Feb. 23 at Trumbull Art Gallery, 196-8 E. Market St. An opening reception will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 20. The 83 images in the exhibition range from landscape and architecture to flora and fauna, and were selected by juror Richard Gleason, a Youngstown State University graduate. The WPS is affiliated with the Photographic Society of America. The 70-year-old club competes with other clubs internationally within the PSA's highest level.
