RTI International Metals is investing in its operations and building new plants because of these contracts:
JOINT STRIKE FIGHTER
Revenue: up to $2 billion.
Supply: 8 million pounds of titanium annually.
Contract length: through 2020.
Military contractor: Lockheed Martin
Program: Supplying titanium for a new plane, called the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
Announced: May 2007.
AIRBUS
Revenue: $1.1 billion.
Supply: A total of at least 45 million pounds of titanium.
Contract length: For 11 years, beginning in 2010.
Customer: Airbus, a European-based supplier of commercial aircraft.
Program: New commercial aircraft models.
Announced: September 2007.
