Fugitive nabbed in Champion

CHAMPION – A Champion man who is a suspect in a West Virginia murder and another shooting was captured here Thursday afternoon.

Roger Dale Grimm, 41, who gave an address of 5075 Mahoning Ave., was arrested in a stolen van about 12:45 p.m. at Mahoning Avenue and state Route 82 after he briefly tried to flee.

Dean Michael, a federal marshal in charge of the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, said there were active warrants charging Grimm with two counts of armed robbery.

He is also a “strong suspect” in the shooting death last Friday in the Clarksburg, W.Va., area and the wounding of a man early Thursday, Michael said.
