Area women to appear on ‘Judge Joe Brown’

YOUNGSTOWN — Frances Cox and Francetta Smith Davis, both of Youngstown, will be on “Judge Joe Brown” on Friday. The show airs at 10 a.m. on WKBN-TV 27.

The two women had been feuding over furniture that Cox purchased from Smith Davis. They had gone to small claims court before being accepted by the “Judge Joe Brown” show. At the time, both women were neighbors on Sunshine Avenue on the East Side. Smith Davis has since moved from the street.

Cox and Smith Davis went to California in September to tape the show.

The dispute began when Cox had to return the furniture to Smith Davis because she could no longer afford to make the payments. Smith Davis claimed that not all of the furniture was returned and that it was in poor shape. Cox claimed that she never used the furniture and returned it intact.
