GIRARD
Jan. 3
Felonious assault/theft: Two people told police a Girard man, 28, pointed a gun at them and fired one round as they chased him after he had been in a vehicle belonging to one of the accusers. Stolen from the car were a 21-inch gold chain, $100, jewelry and compact discs.
Breaking and entering: A man discovered a hole had been cut in a fence at an Ohio Edison Co. substation, 216 High St. It was unknown if anything was missing.
Drug paraphernalia: A 28-year-old Girard man faced one count of possession of drug paraphernalia as police responded to a possible disturbance at a South Davis Street home. A suspected marijuana pipe was in the man’s pocket, officers said.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke a basement window and removed copper plumbing from an East Main Street residence.
Jan. 5
Domestic violence: Police received a 911 call regarding a situation at an East Second Street home, where they charged a man, 20, with the crime. A teenage family member alleged that, while intoxicated, he punched her and pushed her in the chest several times during an argument about an infant.
Burglary: An Elruth Court woman discovered a diamond bracelet and diamond necklace missing from her home, apparently after someone broke in. The theft came to $8,900.
Vehicle theft: An Ohio Avenue woman awoke to discover her 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee missing.
Jan. 6
Criminal damaging: An East Kline Street man accused his girlfriend of breaking a large window after becoming angry when told he wanted her to move out.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Girard man said his 1990 Ford was taken without permission from his girlfriend’s residence. The car sustained transmission and other damage.
Jan. 7
Theft: An East Kline Street woman reported a portable DVD player missing when she returned to a West Broadway Avenue business.
Criminal trespassing: A 17-year-old girl and a man, 18, were charged after the manager of a Trumbull Avenue trailer park said he caught the two breaking into an abandoned trailer.
Theft: The landlord of a Plymouth Avenue residence reported an antique bath tub was missing from the basement.
Burglary: Police got a report that the front door to an East Kline Street home was open, and they discovered a second-floor bedroom door had been kicked in. A computer and accessories were stolen, for a loss of about $1,000.
Theft: A North Avenue man said another man, 24, admitted taking a treadmill, hand tools, fishing poles and other items from the home.

Criminal mischief: A man in the 200 block of Elmwood Drive saw that a ceramic deer ornament was deliberately placed in an inappropriate position.
Jan. 4
Theft: Store personnel detained a woman they said stole merchandise from Devine’s Shop ‘n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.
Jan. 5
Attempted theft: A worker for a West Liberty Street business reported someone tried over the phone to fraudulently buy gift cards.
Theft: A Waugh Drive woman suspected a neighbor of taking her bicycle.
Jan. 6
Theft: A Gary Street woman reported the theft of her purse.
Jan. 7
Theft: A Hubbard woman called police after her vehicle was entered and items stolen.
LIBERTY
Jan. 3
Drugs: After being pulled over near Motor Inn Drive, a 54-year-old Girard woman was charged with three counts of possession of drugs after police said she had medications with no prescription and a pill bottle with no label.
Domestic violence: A Girard man, 22, was taken into custody after being stopped on state Route 193. He was wanted on a domestic-violence charge.
Burglary: Firearms, an antique rifle, a TV and a stereo system were among the items taken after someone broke into a Mosier Road residence via a side door.
Stolen property: A 19-year-old Youngstown man faced charges of receiving stolen property and drug abuse after police conducted a vehicle registration check near Belmont Avenue and said the car had been stolen. Also, a small rock of suspected crack cocaine was in his pants pocket, the report stated.
Assault: A man in the 3000 block of Hadley Avenue told authorities an intoxicated friend struck the accuser in the stomach and head. The man had an abrasion to the stomach and a small bump on his head, the report showed.
Jan. 4
Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop in the 4000 block of Belmont Avenue led to a 40-year-old Youngstown woman’s arrest on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. A suspected crack pipe and a spoon with suspected drug residue were found, authorities said.
Arrest: Officers apprehended a Youngstown man, 22, near Euclid Boulevard and charged him with felonious assault, robbery, obstructing justice, resisting arrest, criminal damaging and disorderly conduct. Earlier, a Trumbull Court man alleged the suspect tossed a beer bottle at his head and tried to stab him with a knife after stealing beer from him. Police said they found a large folding knife, and that he struggled with authorities.
Arrest: Police stopped a vehicle on Trumbull Avenue for missing a front license plate. There, they arrested a 25-year-old man, no information given, after finding out he was wanted on a warrant from Warren.
Theft/criminal damaging: An employee with a Belmont Avenue eatery found a slice in a window to her Jeep Wrangler. Stolen was a small amount of money.
Arrest: Police, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, picked up a 59-year-old man at his Norwood Avenue home. He was wanted on warrants charging him with receiving stolen property and forgery.
Jan. 5
Bad check: An employee for One Stop Mart, 4495 Logan Way, told officers a customer cashed a check for $60, but that it had been written on a nonexistent account.
Jan. 7
Domestic violence: After pulling over a car on Liberty Street for having a fictitious registration, authorities took into custody a Youngstown man, 39, wanted on charges of domestic violence and driving under suspension.
Threats: A Townsend Avenue woman reported a neighbor mentioned to a third party wanting to kill the accuser as part of a feud between the woman and the neighbor.
Criminal damaging: A worker for a Motor Inn Drive business noticed someone tried to pry open a door, causing about $250 worth of damage to the door.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke a section of a window to a rear garage door before entering Firestone Complete Auto Care, 3335 Belmont Ave., and taking 13 tires, for a loss of $1,300.
