No. 3 Kansas 90, Loyola, Md. 60

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Sherron Collins scored 18 points and Kansas finished the first half on a 15-2 run after an outburst by coach Bill Self. The Jayhawks (15-0) had hoped for an easy win in their last non-conference game before their Big 12 opener Saturday at Nebraska. They got it, though it took a while. Playing without injured guard Mario Chalmers, Kansas seemed disjointed early. Self was clearly fed up when Gerald Brown hit a 3-pointer that cut Kansas’ lead to 26-22 with just over five minutes left in the half.

No. 15 Marquette 61, Seton Hall 56

MILWAUKEE — Jerel McNeal scored 14 points, Dominic James added 13 and Dan Fitzgerald hit a key 3-pointer in the closing seconds to lead Marquette over Seton Hall. Their 11th straight home win helped the Golden Eagles (12-2, 2-1 Big East) rebound from a tough loss at West Virginia Saturday. But another possession game seemed unlikely with both Seton Hall (10-5, 0-2) and Marquette averaging more than 80 points a game.No. 10 Indiana 78, Michigan 64

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — D.J. White scored 21 points and had a career-high 22 rebounds and Indiana won its ninth straight. Eric Gordon had 23 points for the Hoosiers (13-1, 2-0 Big Ten). Freshman Manny Harris had 19 points for the Wolverines (4-11, 0-3), who have their worst 15-game record in more than two decades.

No. 7 Georgetown 76, DePaul 60

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Roy Hibbert had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Georgetown dominated from the start with its defense. The Hoyas (12-1, 2-0 Big East) won their fourth straight since losing at No. 2 Memphis. Georgetown ran off the game’s first 11 points and played its customary tough defense under coach John Thompson III, while parlaying some patient offense to one easy basket after another.

WOMEN

No. 5 Rutgers 65, Marquette 61

MILWAUKEE — Essence Carson scored 17 points and Epiphanny Prince added five of her 17 points on free throws down the stretch to lead Rutgers past Marquette. Matee Ajavon scored 14 points for Rutgers (12-2, 2-0 Big East), which won its seventh straight game. Ajavon sat out the conference opener against St. John’s on Jan. 5 in order to rebuild the strength in her legs. Carson started after coming off the bench for the last two games. The senior, recovering from a stress fracture in her foot, was sidelined for three weeks with the injury, but only missed two games as Rutgers had an extended break for exams.

No. 14 Notre Dame 82, Louisville 74

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Charel Allen scored a season-high 26 points to lead Notre Dame over Louisville. Allen scored six of her points during a decisive 10-2 run in the second half that turned a one-point lead into a nine-point cushion for the Fighting Irish (13-2, 1-0 Big East). Notre Dame outscored the Cardinals (11-4, 0-2) 44-36 in the second half after the two teams were tied at 38 at halftime. Tulyah Gaines added 13 points while Erica Williamson chipped in 11 for Notre Dame. Candyce Bingham led Louisville with 22 points.
