Canfield teens charged with New Year’s holiday thefts

CANFIELD — Numerous items stolen from unlocked cars over the New Year’s holiday weekend were recovered and three teenage boys — all from Canfield — have been arrested and taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center to face charges of receiving stolen property.

Sheriff Randall A. Wellington said today that the items recovered include eight global positioning datellite units, two radar detectors, two iPod docking stations, and a Sony Handycam, XM radio, DVD player and 150-watt power inverter.

The sheriff said detectives from his department worked with Canfield police. The thefts occurred in the city and township.
