AP Ohio girls poll includes 4 from area

Four area teams were included in the first Associated Press high school girls basketball poll, released Tuesday.

Maplewood was the highest-ranked team, at No. 5 in Division III. The Rockets are 13-0. Versailles was ranked No. 1.

In Div. II, Southeast (10-0) and Canfield (8-1) were ranked No. 6 and No. 10, respectively. Springfield Kenton Ridge earned the top spot.

In Div. IV, McDonald (10-1) was ranked No. 9 and Berlin Hiland earned the top spot.

In Div. I, West Chester Lakota West was voted No. 1 in balloting by sports writers and sportscasters around the state.
