NHL ROUNDUP Monday’s game
Stars 3, Wild 1
DALLAS — Antti Miettinen scored two goals to help the Dallas Stars end a four-game losing streak. Rookie Matt Niskanen also scored for the Stars, who hadn’t lost four in a row since a five-game skid in 2003. Mike Ribeiro, who signed a new five-year, $25 million contract on Monday, added two assists for Dallas. Brenden Morrow also had two assists for the Stars, 6-0-2 in their last eight home games against the Wild. Mark Parrish scored Minnesota’s goal. It was his 12th of the season and extended his goal-scoring streak to four games. The Stars and Wild have seen quite a bit of each other lately, meeting for the third time in a 13-day span. The teams split the first two, with Dallas winning at home, 8-3, and Minnesota prevailing in St. Paul, 6-3. Marty Turco stopped 18 shots for Dallas. Niskanen helped Dallas take a 1-0 lead when he fired a loose puck past goaltender Niklas Backstrom from low in the left circle at 5:50 of the second period. That ended Dallas’ scoreless streak of 107 minutes, 29 seconds. The Stars had been shut out in their previous two games, with Niskanen notching their previous goal last Thursday night at Minnesota.
