Orr charged with Michigan man’s death
WARREN — Police have captured a 29-year-old Warren man who was sought for his alleged involvement with the city’s first homicide.
City detectives and federal marshals took Jason Orr into custody about 3:30 p.m. today in a car that was in front of the Trumbull County Jail.
His mother and grandmother also were in the car.
City detectives obtained an arrest warrant today charging Orr with the Sunday morning shooting death of Tristan Aguilar, 24, of Saginaw, Mich.
Aguilar had been wanted on nine outstanding warrants for Michigan for shooting at a police officer and other offenses, said U.S. marshal Dean Michael.
Michael said marshals planned to begin looking for Aguilar today based on information that he was in the Warren area where he has associates.
Authorities said Orr’s family was trying to talk him into surrendering. It’s not clear if he intended to do that when he was spotted by Warren detectives and marshals in the car outside the jail.
