Area students Nathan Capello, Jennifer Byers, Jacob Moon, Danica Scott, Christopher Stone, James Scanga, Brittany McKee and Rebecca Carman are among 36 new inductees of the Westminster Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society.
Capello, son of Robert and Karla Capello of Slippery Rock, is a senior accounting and financial economics major and graduate of Slippery Rock Area High School.
Byers, daughter of William and Sallie Byers of Zelienople, is a junior elementary education major and a graduate of Seneca Valley High School.
Moon, son of Reid and Krista Moon of Zelienople, is a senior music education major and a graduate of Seneca Valley High School.
Scott, daughter of Robert and Sheryl Scott of New Wilmington, is a senior English major and a graduate of Wilmington Area High School.
Stone, son of William and Jenny Stone of New Wilmington, is a senior individual interdisciplinary and philosophy major and a graduate of Wilmington Area High School.
Scanga, son of James and Kimberly Scanga of Sharpsville, is a senior music education major and a graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School.
McKee, daughter of daughter of James and Hilda McKee of Hubbard, is a senior speech communication major and a graduate of Hubbard High School.
Carman, daughter of Paul and Carolyn Carman of Youngstown, is a junior English major and a graduate of Boardman High School.

Veronica Herbert, daughter of Dr. Barbara Nykiel-Herbert of Youngstown and the late Dr. Robert K. Herbert, former provost at Youngstown State University, has been named a recipient of the William R. Kenan, Jr. Excellence Awards, which pay for tuition, fees, room and board.
She is a graduate of Ursuline High School, where she was ranked first in her class and was named a National Merit Semifinalist and an AP Scholar. She attended the NCSA School of Filmmaking 2006 Summer Session before applying as a regular student and had the highest SAT scores of any candidate interviewed for the School of Filmmaking.

The Williamson College of Business Administration presented its “Outstanding Senior Leadership” awards, recognizing students for outstanding academic performance, leadership contributions and commitment to professional development. Amber Gallagher and Orsolya Dunai, both of Austintown, received Leadership Awards in marketing; Katie Walker of Austintown and Robert Greaf received Leadership Awards in management; and Gina Sciortino of Austintown, Jaime Kudary of Mineral Ridge and Jamie Pascarella of Boardman received Leadership Awards in accounting and finance.
