Suspect indicted in E. Side stabbing


The accused will face
repeat-violent-offender specifications.

YOUNGSTOWN — The suspect in a bloody stabbing of his East Side house mate last summer has been indicted on charges of attempted murder and felonious assault.

Indicted by the Mahoning County grand jury Thursday was Thomas C. Carter, 53, of Gerwig Avenue, who police said stabbed 38-year-old Charles Robinson 16 times in a July 17 argument over a cup.

Carter, who was arrested last month in Columbus, is facing repeat-violent-offender specifications attached to these charges because of a 1980 aggravated robbery conviction in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

U James Walker, 33, of Fairgreen Avenue, drug possession.

U Jason Hymes, 35, of Norwood Avenue, drug possession.

U Matthew McCracken, 30, of Williamsburg Road, Canfield, cocaine and heroin possession.

U Heather N. Towns, 21, of West Judson Avenue, carrying concealed weapons.

U Veronica S. Vigorito, 32, of Isaac Avenue, Niles, theft of drugs.

U Derrick A. Tensley, 32, of Oak Lane, cocaine possession.

U Sergio E. Chavarria, 24, of Fuller Drive, Northeast, Warren, carrying concealed weapons.

U Sarah A. Fulton, 28, of Compass West, Austintown, marijuana trafficking.

U Adam R. Virden, 35, of West Maryland Avenue, Sebring, gross sexual imposition on two girls, ages 9 and 10.

U Alfred Hall Jr., 38, of Brooklyn Avenue, receiving stolen property, possessing criminal tools, and three counts of breaking and entering.

U Nicholas A. Calloway, 28, of Upland Avenue, cocaine possession.

U Gerald K. Banks, 37, of Madison Street, Campbell, cocaine possession.
