Route 11 bridge hit again by another truck driver
VIENNA — A Browning-Ferris Industries truck struck the underside of the Route 11 bridge, while traveling westbound on state Route 82 early today, causing superficial damage to the structure.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver was cited for causing the accident, at 4:35 a.m. He drove away uninjured.
All lanes remained open during the incident. An inspection by the Ohio Department of Transportation found the bridge remained functional.
In December, a driver of a container-hauling truck struck the Niles-Vienna Road overpass over Route 11, killing the driver and causing thousands of dollars of damage to the bridge.
