KSUTC plans awards for distinguished alumni

WARREN — A new Distinguished Alumni Awards program has been initiated for Kent State University’s Trumbull Campus.

Save the date for this inaugural extravaganza: April 25.

Individuals who attended the Trumbull Campus for any length of time are eligible to be nominated as Distinguished Alumni. A large number of Trumbull attendees have completed a bachelor’s degree at the Kent Campus, but they are still considered Trumbull alumni as long as they took some classes at Trumbull.

The awards will be presented April 25, and the event is being expanded to involve the larger campus family and community under the banner “Kent Trumbull Founders Day.”

The planning committee thought it would be appropriate to invite current and former faculty and staff and, at the same time, announce the annual Trumbull Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards. In addition, the committee decided to establish another much-needed tribute, the Founders Award, to honor individuals in the local community who have been instrumental in the life of the Trumbull Campus.
