Driver runs into utility pole; power out for 3 hours

GREENVILLE, Pa. — A vehicle ran into a utility pole on state Route 18, north of High Road, disrupting power to parts of the borough and as far north as Crawford County, according to Hempfield Fire Department officials.

The accident occurred at 5:58 p.m. today. The driver was transported to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Horizon Outpatient Center, Greenville, with minor injuries. The driver’s name was not provided by fire officials. Power was restored within three hours, fire officials said.
