GROVE CITY, Pa. — The Grove City College Annual Giving program was recently honored with the 2007 Gold Accolades Award for District II of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. Full Circle, the Annual Fund for Grove City College, is led by Peggy Wolstoncroft, director of annual giving and prospect research. She joined the College in 2000 and in seven years has developed the annual giving program into a successful campaign with donations totaling more than $1.5 million each year. Wolstoncroft will accept the award in Puerto Rico on Jan. 28.
History seminars
NEW YORK, NY — The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is sponsoring 32 tuition-free, one-week teacher enrichment seminars across the U.S. and England for teachers at every level. Participants in the competitive application seminars will receive a $400 stipend, books and room and board. Public, parochial, independent school teachers and National Park Service employees are eligible to apply.
Historians from universities including Stanford, Columbia, Yale and the University of Virginia will lead seminars on topics ranging from the Colonial era, the U.S. Constitution and the Underground Railroad to the Great Depression, the Cold War and the civil rights movement. Last year more than 700 educators from 49 states and six foreign countries participated.

Writing workshops
YOUNGSTOWN — Warriors Inc., a Christian-based community service agency, is offering a free Community Writing Enrichment Workshop beginning Jan. 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The program targets junior high and high school pupils as well as adults with an interest in careers in journalism and creative writing or anyone who wants to improve their writing skills.
