YSU gets $2.7 million from Stavich Family Trust

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University’s Centennial Capital Campaign got a major boost today with a $2.7 million gift from the Stavich Family Trust.

The money comes form the Trust’s scholarship fund and will continue to be used for that purpose, providing scholarships to YSU for 20 to 25 Campbell High School graduates.

The Stavich family owned the Calex Corp. in Campbell for 40 years and has been a benefactor to numerous community and other programs, particularly the Campbell schools.

The gift to YSU increases the amount raised in the capital campaign to $39.2 million toward a goal of $43 million.
