Chaney comes from behind to topple Mathews

YOUNGSTOWN — After trailing most of the game, the Chaney High girls basketball team got a big field goal from Whitli Sanders with 1:13 left in the game to take its first lead, then took control with a 3-pointer by Tiara Heard moments later to pull past Mathews 47-43 in a girls basketball game Thursday at Chaney High School.
Alyssa Sykes scored 13 points to lead the Cowgirls (3-5), who outscored Mathews 17-9 in the fourth quarter.
Rachel Roscoe had 13 points to lead Mathews (6-5).
Mooney 35, Columbiana 29
YOUNGSTOWN — Dayna Daltorio scored eight of her 10 points in the first quarter as Mooney jumped out to a 12-5 lead after eight minutes.
Sarah Pelini added 10 points, going 4 of 4 from the line down the stretch, to lift the Cardinals (7-5).
Kaylee Couchenour scored 12 points for Columbiana (5-6).
Poland 41, East Palestine 33
POLAND — Missy Haug’s 15 points included four 3-pointers for Poland (2-6). Julie Berend netted eight points while Missy Benson had seven.
For East Palestine (2-6), Logan Guy scored 11 points.

BERLIN CENTER — Autumn Carter scored 14 points to lead the Raiders (10-1) to double digits in victories. Gab Naples had eight points and Melissa Withers had seven.
For the Blue Devils (3-8), Ellie Sanders scored 14 points.
McDonald 56, Mineral Ridge 37
McDONALD — Emily Dolsak scored 22 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as the Blue Devils expanded its undefeated streak to 10 games.
Joh’Vonnie Mosley added 17 points and Lindsay Repp12 with four steals and Callie Garland three assists to reinforce McDonald (10-0), which barged to a 20-2 lead after the first quarter.
Nicole Honsaker had 13 points and Heather Reinhart 10 to pace Mineral Ridge (1-9).
Lowellville 47, Springfield 33
LOWELLVILLE — Ali Grapevine scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Lowellville pulled away from the Tigers in the second half, outscoring them 18-8 in the fourth quarter.
Candace Kamensky grabbed 11 rebounds for the Rockets (5-6) while Jamie Hynes and Krissy Meehan each scored eight points.
Ashley Davis scored 10 points with six rebounds for the Tigers (4-8).
Lisbon 50, Sebring 25
LISBON — Emily Smith poured in 21 points, including three 3-point goals, and also had seven steals to lead Lisbon (9-2).
Mindy Jackson chipped in with 12 points while Emily DeFilippo grabbed 12 rebounds to bolster Lisbon.
Julia Grimsley scored 11 points to lead Sebring (6-4) while Taylor Hannah had nine rebounds and five points and Jill Bragg eight rebounds
