Obama, Huckabee post Iowa wins

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Sen. Barack Obama, bidding to become the first black president, won the Iowa caucuses tonight, the opening test in the race for the 2008 Democratic nomination.

Mike Huckabee, a Baptist preacher turned politician, rode a wave of support from evangelical Christians to victory in the Republican contest.

Democratic Sens. Joe Biden of Delaware and Chris Dodd of Connecticut have abandoned their campaigns after poor showings.
