Dec. 28

Drugs: A traffic stop near South and Larkridge avenues led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Boardman man on a felony count of drug abuse (methadone) and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug-abuse instruments. A hypodermic syringe and two methadone pills were in the car, police said.

Burglary: A man who owns a Brandon Avenue residence reported someone broke a rear window and entered before removing $1,500.

Robbery: A Boardman woman told authorities a man in dark clothing demanded money and fled on foot while she was in the parking lot of a Doral Drive business. The man didn’t appear to have had a weapon, and the woman gave him $30 and a debit card, the report showed.

Theft: Two Youngstown girls, 15 and 17, were charged after $82.30 worth of clothing was stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Assault: A Youngstown man was not injured after having been assaulted in the 7100 block of Glenwood Avenue.

Deception: A worker for Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road, reported someone phoned in and tried to pick up a suspicious prescription for Vicodin and Klonopin. When asked for identification, the person claimed her wallet had been stolen and left.

Theft: A Blacklick, Ohio, woman discovered 50 checks had been stolen from her former residence in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue.

Vehicle theft: A Poland man reported the theft of his 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee while at a South Avenue business.

Theft: A temporary license plate was missing from a car at a Youngstown-Poland Road store.

Theft/criminal damaging: An employee with a Simon Road business found out someone tried to enter his vehicle and damaged a driver’s-side rain guard, apparently in an attempt to steal the vehicle.

Theft: A Poland woman discovered two $100 transactions were made to her account via an automated teller machine at her bank on South Avenue.

Criminal mischief: An employee of Boardman Township Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, noticed someone had shot paint balls at Maag Outdoor Theater and a nearby memorial. No damage was done.

Theft: Five women’s coats valued at a total of $700 were taken from Sears in the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Police arrested a 14-year-old Youngstown girl on a theft charge after three necklaces and a silver ring were stolen from the J.C. Penney store in the Southern Park Mall. The theft was estimated at $150.

Theft: A Boardman woman’s purse was stolen while she was at a South Avenue store.

Attempted breaking and entering: A worker for Youngstown Buick Pontiac GMC Truck, 7997 Market St., discovered someone pried open a cash register, damaging it. No money was missing, though, and police found no signs of forced entry into the building.

Theft: A rear license plate was removed from a vehicle on Ranier Trail.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 25, was charged after being accused of taking $148 worth of clothing from the J.C. Penney store.

Recovered property: During an investigation, officers found in the 300 block of Ridgefield Avenue a 1994 Ford F-150 truck belonging to a Lowellville man.

Theft: A Park Harbour Drive man reported his wife’s purse was removed from one of his vehicles and an MP3 player from another.

Theft: A employee with a South Avenue store reported her purse and wallet stolen.

Theft: Someone siphoned gasoline from a vehicle belonging to a worker for a Boardman-Poland Road business.
