Warren man shot on Youngstown’s North Side

YOUNGSTOWN — Marquies Johnson, 20, of Idylwild Street, Warren, told police he was shot in the leg while walking on Elm Street near New York Avenue on New Year’s Eve.

Johnson was taken to Forum Health Northside Medical Center for treatment, but the hospital wouldn’t release any information on him today. Johnson said he was walking down the North Side street about 11 p.m. Monday when he heard five gunshots.

One bullet hit him just above the ankle. He was driven to the hospital by a relative.
