WASHINGTON — DaJuan Summers had 15 points and nine rebounds and Jonathan Wallace reached a pair of milestones in a 19-point effort for Georgetown. Austin Freeman had 12 points and Jessie Sapp and Roy Hibbert added 11 each for the Hoyas (10-1). Marcus Stout led Fordham (6-6) with 27 points and Bryant Dunston added 20 points and 16 rebounds. Wallace became the Hoyas’ career leader in 3-pointers made, breaking the record of 189 set by Kevin Braswell from 1998-02 on a shot from the top with 14:32 left in the first half. With 18:50 left in the second half, Wallace scored on a one-handed floater down the middle of the lane, becoming the 39th player in Georgetown history to reach the 1,000 points.

No. 12 Texas A&M 68, Rice 41

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Josh Carter and DeAndre Jordan scored 16 points apiece, and the Aggies rolled to their sixth-straight win. Jordan, a 7-foot freshman, also had 12 rebounds and four blocks for Texas A&M (13-1), which is tied for the second-best start in school history. It’s the first time since the 1959-60 season the Aggies have been 13-1. Joseph Jones added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Aggies, who closed out the first half with an 11-0 run. They led by 15 at halftime and pushed the lead to 47-27 on a layup by Jordan midway through the second half. A 6-0 spurt made it 59-33 with about 5 minutes left. Lawrence Ghoram had 16 points and six rebounds for Rice (3-8).

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A.J. Ogilvy and Shan Foster scored 20 points each, and the Commodores beat Iona to get off to their best start in school history. Alan Metcalfe added 14 points for Vanderbilt (13-0), which won its first 12 games in 2003-04 and advanced to the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament. The Commodores are one of six unbeaten Division I teams. Gary Springer led Iona (5-9) with 17 points, and Devon Clarke added 15 points.

WOMEN

No. 1 Connecticut 82, Army 33

HARTFORD, Conn. — Mel Thomas scored 19 points and showed off her long-range game as Connecticut opened its second week as the No. 1 team in the nation by routing Army. Thomas hit her first seven shots, five of 3-pointers, and the Huskies (11-0) put away the Black Knights (6-6) early, opening the game with a 17-3 run.
