Aqua Ohio joins network
for emergency response
BOARDMAN — Aqua Ohio and four other water utilities have joined the Ohio Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network. Ohio becomes the 14th state to join the national WARN system, which is designed to help utilities respond to and recover from emergencies. Aid can be in the form of personnel, equipment, materials or other services. The other Ohio utilities are the city of Archbold, Butler County, the city of Cleveland and the village of Ottawa.
Also, Boardman-based Aqua said it has signed an agreement to provide sewage management services for a new sewage system being built by Clinton County. It will provide service to 1,300 residents.

Tracinda Corp. buys
35% stake in Delta
LOS ANGELES — Kirk Kerkorian’s Tracinda Corp. will pay $684 million for a 35 percent stake in Delta Petroleum Corp. in a deal that will help Delta speed drilling activities in the Rocky Mountains.
Denver-based Delta said the agreement will also provide funding for possible acquisitions. Its board unanimously approved the agreement allowing Tracinda to acquire 36 million shares.
The $19-per-share purchase price represents a 23 percent premium to the company’s closing stock price on Friday.
