Man arrested in unauthorized removal

YOUNGSTOWN — Dominic J. Mamone was arrested on charges of unauthorized removal and possession of criminal tools after police found him loading aluminum siding into the trunk of his sport-utility vehicle at a vacant house at 33 E. Boston Ave. on Sunday afternoon, reports show.

Mamone, 23, of Chattanooga Avenue, was arraigned Monday in municipal court and released on his own recognizance. He will be back in court Feb. 1 for a pretrial hearing.

Mamone told police that renters on East Boston told him that houses at 31, 33 and 37 were on the demolition list and he was allowed to take the siding off the houses. His vehicle was towed and held for the scrap-theft officer.
