Girl Scout cookie sales to begin
NILES — As the new year gets under way, the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio will kick off their sale offering two new cookie selections.
The annual cookie sale starts Friday and ends March 17 and is part of the Girl Scout Financial Literacy Program.
The girls learn how to develop objectives, plan and implement a project, financial responsibility, self- confidence and community awareness, says Lori Shandor, fund development director, in a press release.
GSNEO will be offering eight varieties of cookies, including their newest additions, Cinna-Spins, which are crispy cinnamon snack swirls, and Lemonades, slices of shortbread with lemon icing.
For consumers interested in nutritional information, the ingredients and nutritional profile are listed on each cookie box.
Cookies are $3.50 a box, and all proceeds stay in and support girl scouting throughout GSNEO’s 18 county regions.
Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts has provided almost 50 million girls with programs that allow them to interact with their communities, build self-esteem, improve financial literacy, encourage good health and build leadership skills.
