Two vehicle crash kills East Palestine man

NEGLEY – One motorist was killed and another injured today in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 170, just south of here, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Killed was Brad Hogue, 52, of East Palestine, while David Hawk, 19, of East Liverpool, was treated at East Liverpool City Hospital before being transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital.

The patrol said Hogue was driving his pickup truck south on Route 170 about 2:30 p.m. and Hawk was driving his car north. Hawk apparently lost control of his car on a curve, traveled into the southbound lane and struck the pickup head-on. Hogue was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbiana County Coroner’s Office.
