City schools to sign “Covenant with the Community”

YOUNGSTOWN — City, Youngstown State University and city school board representatives will sign a “Covenant With the Community” at 3 p.m. Monday at West Elementary School auditorium, 310 S. Schenley Ave. The contract is a demonstration of solidarity and support for the school district and its efforts to accomplish a range of goals, including a continuous improvement plan and accountability to the community. Mayor Jay Williams, members of city council, YSU President David C. Sweet and city school board and teacher union representatives will participate. The program is open to the public.
