Boardman advances to state

CANTON — For the second time in four seasons, the Boardman High girls basketball team has earned a berth in the Division I state tournament.

Friday, Boardman rallied from a late three-point deficit to defeat Howland, 43-35 in overtime.

Courtney Schiffauer scored 10 points while junior guard Emily Abraham made five free throws in overtime for the Spartans.

Howland senior Alexa Williams scored 13 points.
