Feb. 21
Attempted burglary: A woman reported a man claiming to have lost his dog entered her enclosed porch and peered into her Salinas Trail residence.
Theft: An undisclosed amount of money was removed from a box at Sylvan Learning Center, 809 Kentwood Circle.
Vandalism: A BB or pellet was shot, causing around $1,000 worth of damage to a window at Pat’s Uniforms, 6020 Market St.
Bad check: Police arrested a 21-year-old Canfield woman wanted on a charge of passing a bad check at her home. She was accused of using such a check to buy merchandise from Panache, a hair salon at 7301 West Blvd.
Fraud: The owner of an East Western Reserve Road business discovered someone made an unauthorized $18,933 money transfer from the business’s checking account.
Aggravated menacing: A Columbiana woman told police her life was threatened while she was at a Boardman-Poland Road business.
Arrest: A 50-year-old man was arrested at his Prestwick Drive home on a warrant from Warren charging him with probation violation.
Arrest: Authorities booked a Youngstown woman, 34, at the Mahoning County Jail on a warrant from the township charging her with leaving the scene of an accident.
Drugs: After pulling over a vehicle near Hillman Way, officers charged a 21-year-old Youngstown man with identity fraud, possession of marijuana and obstructing official business. Suspected marijuana was found, and he gave a false name and other phony information, police said.
Theft: A worker for a South Avenue restaurant reported the theft of 27 medications.
Domestic violence: A 15-year-old Mathews Road boy was charged, accused of punching his stepfather several times as the victim tried to intervene in a fight between the teen and his mother.

Assault: A West Boulevard woman accused her former boyfriend of grabbing her by the throat during an argument.
Misuse of a credit card: A West Boulevard man checked his bank account online and noticed six charges totaling $1,100.52 that he never made.
Misuse of a credit card: A Ravine Trail woman told police her credit card company informed her someone had made a $385 charge without her consent.
Criminal damaging: A window was damaged, possibly with a BB or pellet, at a California Avenue business.
Theft: A worker for a Market Street insurance company reported a satellite radio, a communications device and another item missing from an office.
Domestic violence: A 26-year-old Terrace Drive woman was charged after officers responded to a fight in which a family member reported having been punched in the face.
Stolen property: Authorities responded to a report of someone trying to cash a stolen check at a South Avenue bank, where they charged a 17-year-old Struthers boy with receiving stolen property and passing a bad check.
Auto theft: A Youngstown man reported the theft of his 2006 Chrysler while in the 7400 block of Huntington Drive.
Bad check: A woman attempted to cash a fraudulent $2,995.40 check at Checksmart, 112 Boardman-Poland Road.
Auto theft: Someone rented but failed to return a 2007 Kia Optima to Hertz Rent-a-Car, 8162 Market St.

Arrest: After saying they saw an intoxicated person near Glenwood Avenue and U.S. Route 224, officers took a 27-year-old Boardman man into custody upon finding out he was wanted on a felony warrant from Youngstown. He also was charged with public intoxication.
Aggravated menacing: An Erskine Avenue woman came home and played a phone message in which the caller threatened to cut her several times with a knife.
Criminal damage: A mailbox in the 7400 block of Huntington Drive sustained $50 worth of damage.
Assault: A Campbell woman had an injury to her left eye after being assaulted at the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A 29-year-old Warren woman was charged, accused in the theft of $158.50 worth of merchandise from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.
Feb. 24
Theft: Officers responded to a disturbance at a U.S. Route 224 eatery, where they arrested two girls, 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old woman, all of Youngstown. The woman was charged with theft, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, accused of not paying a food bill and refusing to cooperate with police; the girls faced charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.
Domestic violence: Charges were filed against a woman, 21, and a man, 23, both of Glenwood Avenue, when both suffered injuries after a situation. The man said he had been punched; the woman alleged he choked her and tossed her to the ground.
Theft: Three men left a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant without paying their $33.30 food bill.
Assault: A Cook Avenue woman was not hurt after reporting she had been assaulted at her home.
Theft: A motorist pumped $23 worth of gasoline and left a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying.
Burglary: A Bob-o-Link Drive man saw that his garage had been entered. Missing were 10 ceramic items and $1,000 worth of coins.
