Wrestling | Division I update

COLUMBUS — Tony Jameson of Fitch High began his quest for a fourth state championship with a 23-20 victory over Rudy Hendon of Bowling Green at the Division I state wrestling championships at Value City Arena.

Jameson, now 41-2, will next wrestle Caleb Marsh (35-7) of Marysville Friday in a quarterfinal round match.

Of the seven area wrestlers in Div. I, only Jameson and Boardman’s Jeff Liggitt won their first-round matches. At 135 pounds, Liggitt (36-8) defeated Nick Difabritus of Mason 5-3. Liggitt will next meet Collin Palmer (27-0) of Lakewood St. Edward.
