STAFF REDUCTIONS

Youngstown city schools

City school officials are proposing an additional 140 job cuts in fiscal 2008-09, which begins July 1, as part of the district’s recovery from a $15 million budget deficit last year. The cuts come on top of 96 reductions that took effect this school year. A state performance audit for fiscal 2006-07 suggested the district look at even deeper cuts. Cuts by category show:
