Get Out The Vote event is Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN — A Get Out the Vote effort will take place Saturday from Union Baptist Church, 528 Lincoln Ave., where volunteers spend the day using 40 phone lines set up in the church hall.

They will be calling membership lists and unlikely voters from their congregations and inner-city neighborhoods.

The event is being spearheaded by the Ohio Baptist Convention, one of the largest black American organizations in the state composed of 84 congregations in 11 different cities, and the Ohio Organizing Collaborative.
