Crash victim is ‘critical’
MERCER, Pa. — A woman who suffered injuries in a car accident Tuesday was still in critical condition late Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Carol Boran, 47, of Erie, Pa., lost control of her car on Interstate 79 in New Vernon Township, said Pennsylvania State Police at Mercer.
The accident happened at 3:50 p.m. Boran was passing another car when her vehicle began to spin out of control. It left the road and hit a guardrail, then flipped over, police said. She was extricated from her car by Sheakleyville Volunteer Fire Department, then taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s.
Copper stolen from home
LIBERTY — A Fifth Avenue home was damaged extensively in a copper theft Monday. Liberty police reported about $5,000 worth of copper tubing was removed from the residence. The home’s walls and ceilings were damaged in the process, according to reports. The perpetrator is believed to have gained entry through a side door.
