NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Shan Foster scored 32 points as Vanderbilt knocked off Tennessee one day after the Vols moved into the top spot in the rankings for the first time in school history. Jermaine Beal added 17 points and Alex Gordon 11 as Vanderbilt (24-4, 9-4 Southeastern Conference) won its seventh straight. Chris Lofton led Tennessee (25-3, 11-2) with 25 points. Tyler Smith, playing with the flu, had 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.

No. 15 Connecticut 79, Rutgers 61

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Jeff Adrien scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Connecticut to its 11th win in 12 games. Stanley Robinson, who had 13 rebounds, and Craig Austrie both added 18 points for Connecticut (22-6, 11-4). Freshman Earl Pettis had a season-high 18 points for the Scarlet Knights (10-19, 2-14), who lost their eighth straight game.

Missouri State 86, No. 20 Drake 83

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Deven Mitchell scored 20 points and Missouri State (15-15, 7-10 Missouri Valley) closed the John Q. Hammons Student Center with one of the most impressive victories in school history. Josh Young led Drake (24-4, 13-3) with 18 points.

Pittsburgh 77, No. 13 West Virginia 75, OT

PITTSBURGH — Shavonte Zellous scored 29 points to help Pittsburgh end a four-game losing streak. LaQuita Owens missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer of overtime. Chakhia Cole tied the game with 9.9 seconds left in regulation and Pittsburgh (19-8, 9-5 Big East) had a chance for one last shot, but Mallorie Winn’s 3-pointer missed.Meg Bulger and Olayinka Sanni led the Mountaineers (22-5, 11-3) with 19 points each.
