SteelHounds scouting report: Youngstown concludes a three-game road swing that will cover 1,241 miles through Colorado and Texas. The SteelHounds lost to the Colorado Eagles, 7-3, Friday night, before defeating the Amarillo Gorillas, 5-4 in a shootout, Sunday. Rookie F Kevin Jarman had two goals and an assist at Colorado and added a goal Sunday. He has recorded at least one point in 10 of his last 11 games and has 18 goals and 14 assists for the season. Youngstown’s 17-10-1 road record and 35 road points is second-best in the CHL this season behind Bossier-Shreveport.
Brahmas scouting report: Texas is 29-20-1 and in last place in the Northeast Division, but just three points behind the SteelHounds. The Brahmas are 17-8-0 at home this season and have won eight of their last 10 games. The teams have split their eight previous games this season; Youngstown has outscored Texas 26-22. Andres Strome leads the Brahmas with 30 goals and 50 points. Blair Manning has 38 assists. Goalie David Cacciola is 19-14-1 with a 3.15 goals against average.
Up next: The SteelHounds play host to the Wichita Thunder at the Chevrolet Centre for three games this weekend. Friday and Saturday game times are 7:05 p.m. and Sunday is 4:05 p.m. Friday night is “SteelHounds out for Blood Night,” where fans can donate blood to the American Red Cross from 2-7 p.m. at the Community Room in the Chevrolet Centre.
