A summary of criminal activity in the city of Canfield and in Austintown Township.

CANFIELD

Feb. 19

Disturbance: A “repo” man told police he attempted to repossess a vehicle at a home in the 300 block of Russo Avenue and the male owner threatened to shoot him. Police went to the home and obtained both sides of the story and told those involved they would present the matter to the prosecutor’s office for further consideration.

AUSTINTOWN

Feb. 18

Theft: A man was arrested on a charge of theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Domestic violence: A fight occurred between sisters and one was arrested at a home in the 3000 block of Staatz Drive.

Aggravated burglary: A man was arrested for burglary at an apartment in the 400 block of South Raccoon Road.

Feb. 19

Breaking and entering: Alfredo’s, 1651 S. Raccoon Road, was broken into with entry gained through the drive-through window. The cash drawer was found open.

Theft: Phones ordered from Amazon.com were apparently stolen after delivery by UPS at a home in the 1000 block of West Hampton Court.

Robbery: Two men and a woman sprayed an employee with pepper spray and robbed Purpose Money, 5223 Mahoning Ave., of $3,841.

Bad checks; Checks were written against a closed account at First Place Bank, 101 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A woman is a suspect in a theft at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Feb. 20

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made by telephone and a note was placed on the door at an apartment in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s gas cap was damaged at Joseph Knight Tower, 107 Westchester Drive.

Theft: Plastic lids from recycling bins were stolen at the 9/11 Memorial, 1055 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: Vehicle tires were slashed at a home in the 400 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Theft: A male subject is accused of theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Feb. 21

Weapons offense: A knife was found on a pupil at Austintown Middle School, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Breaking and entering: A storage unit was broken into at Blake’s, 2024 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal trespassing: Three male juveniles were arrested at a vacant house in the 600 block of Purdue Avenue.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported on a phone bill in the 5000 block of Cranberry Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to a credit card at a home in the 4000 block of Southward Drive.

Forgery: The victim’s name was signed on a receipt for purchases at a home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Feb. 22

Drug offense: A Berlin Center man was charged with possession of rolling papers and a marijuana pipe at Four Mile Run and Meridian roads.

Theft: A total of $72.30 in fuel was stolen at Country Fair, 1145 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: Food items were taken at Certified Oil, 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Feb. 23

Theft: Four suspects were arrested and issued criminal summonses for theft at Wal-Mart.

Drug offense: An Austintown man was arrested for possession of three methadone pills and two oxycodone pills in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Burglary: A 42-inch plasma Insignia television was stolen from a home in the 200 block of South Main Street.

Theft: A woman’s wallet containing credit cards were stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Deercreek Court.

Feb. 24

Drug offense: A Campbell woman was issued a summons for possession of marijuana at Noday’s parking lot, 3713 Oakwood Ave.

Auto theft: A 2003 Dodge Intrepid was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Breaking and entering: Renew Roofing, 168 S. Meridian Road, was broken into and a 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck was taken along with a torpedo heater.

Theft: An undetermined amount of money was reported stolen from an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.
