Show of support set Tuesday for Youngstown schools

YOUNGSTOWN — City and Youngstown State University officials will joint city school district representatives in signing a “Contract With the Community” at 6 p.m. Tuesday at West Elementary School, 310 S. Schenley Ave.

Mayor Jay Williams and members of city council as well as Dr. David C. Sweet, president of YSU, are scheduled to participate in the event designed to demonstrate solidarity in support of the Youngstown city schools.

This community contract is a pledge of unification and support for all Youngstown city schools as the Youngstown City School District outlines its vision to accomplish a broad range of goals, including a continuous improvement plan and accountability to the community.
