SteelHounds defeated in Colorado, 7-3


LOVELAND, Colo. — The Youngstown SteelHounds fell to the Colorado Eagles Friday, 7-3.

The SteelHounds, who have never won a game at the Budweiser Events Center, scored first as Kevin Jarman put in his first of two goals at 7:30 of the first period.

The Eagles came back with three unanswered goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Kris Wiebe scored a power play goal at 4:07, Greg Pankewicz gave the Eagles the lead 27 seconds later and Dave Iannazzo finished the rally with his first of two goals at 8:07.

Youngstown’s Eric Przepiorka scored his 22nd of the season at 16:19 to make it 3-2, but Iannazzo added his second goal at 17:56 to give the Eagles a 4-2 advantage going into the third period.

Steve Haddon scored his 12th of the season at 6:51 to make it 5-2 before Jarman scored his second for Youngstown at 10:23 to make it 5-3. Jarman has 17 goals and 14 assists this season.

Seth Leonard then scored two goals in the third period for Colorado to finish the scoring.

Youngstown (28-18-4) was outshot by Colorado 34-32. The SteelHounds remained in a tie with the Mississippi RiverKings for second place in the Northeast Division and fourth in the Northern Conference.

The SteelHounds visit Amarillo tonight at 7:05.
