Senators 4, Penguins 3, OT

PITTSBURGH — Daniel Alfredsson scored on a backhander with 3.2 seconds remaining in overtime as Ottawa rallied from three goals down. Ottawa was at risk of falling out of the Eastern Conference lead for the first time this season before Alfredsson scored the winner on Ottawa’s final rush of overtime. Dany Heatley scored twice and Cory Stillman added a goal to key the comeback after coach John Paddock broke up the Senators’ top line of Heatley, Alfredsson and Jason Spezza at the start, though they were together at times later in the game. Petr Sykora, Colby Armstrong and Jeff Taffe scored for the Penguins, whose three-game winning streak was snapped. NHL scoring leader Evgeni Malkin’s 10-game scoring streak was halted.

Blue Jackets 3, Canadiens 0

MONTREAL — Pascal Leclaire made 30 saves for his ninth shutout and Rick Nash and Andrew Murray scored first-period goals to lead Columbus over Montreal. Leclaire, a native of the Montreal suburb of Repentigny, made his first appearance at the Bell Centre a successful one as he increased his league lead in shutouts over New York’s Henrik Lundqvist, who is second with seven.

Blackhawks 6, Kings 5, OT

LOS ANGELES — Patrick Sharp scored his second goal of the game 1:48 into overtime and Chicago beat Los Angeles after blowing a four-goal lead in the third period. The Blackhawks built a 5-1 lead in the second period with four goals in a 4:06 span. Martin Havlat and defenseman Andrei Zyuzin scored 15 seconds apart, and Jonathan Toews and Jason Williams scored 70 seconds apart. Sharp, who leads the Blackhawks with 29 goals, also scored on a power play in the first period to help Chicago win for the fifth time in six games. Kings defenseman Peter Harrold scored his first NHL goal, and Michael Cammalleri, Tom Preissing, Patrick O’Sullivan and Anze Kopitar added goals in the final 11 minutes of the third.

Stars 6, Predators 3

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mike Ribeiro had two goals and two assists and Dallas beat Nashville. Loui Eriksson also had two goals for the Stars, who have won eleven of their last 13 games. Antti Miettinen and Brenden Morrow added scores for Dallas. Ville Koistinen, J.P. Dumont and Ryan Suter scored for Nashville, losers of two straight. Ribeiro’s two goals came in the second period. With the scored tied at 1, he tapped a rebound of a slap shot by Matt Niskanen into an empty net. Then, with the score knotted at 2, he added his 26th goal of the year with 3.9 seconds left in the period.

Hurricanes 6, Capitals 3

RALEIGH, N.C. — Matt Cullen scored twice and Eric Staal had the go-ahead score late in the second period to help Carolina win at home for the sixth time in seven games. Erik Cole added a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, who maintained their hold on the Southeast Division lead. Staal also had two assists, while recently acquired defenseman Joe Corvo scored his first goal with Carolina since coming over in a trade from Ottawa earlier this month. Andrew Ladd also scored for the Hurricanes. Mike Green, Alexander Semin and Brooks Laich scored goals for the Capitals, who led 2-1 after the first period before the Hurricanes pushed ahead for good. Alexander Ovechkin had three assists.

Panthers 2, Flyers 1, OT

PHILADELPHIA — Jay Bouwmeester tied the game with 3.7 seconds left in regulation and Oli Jokinen scored the winner as Florida handed Philadelphia its 10th straight loss, matching a franchise record. Daniel Briere scored Philadelphia’s only goal.

Devils 4, Islanders 2

NEWARK, N.J. — Zach Parise’s 25th goal snapped a third-period tie and gave New Jersey its first win of the season against the Islanders. Brian Gionta stretched the lead to two goals 2:13 later for the Devils, who ended a six-game skid against New York. Martin Brodeur made 19 saves and earned his NHL-leading 34th win. Patrik Elias and John Madden scored in the first period for New Jersey, which has won four straight. Josef Vasicek and Ruslan Fedotenko had goals for the Islanders.

Rangers 4, Sabres 3

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sean Avery scored with 5:05 remaining, lifting New York to a win over Buffalo. Avery and Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and assist each, while Jaromir Jagr and Nigel Dawes also scored for the Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves. Buffalo’s Ales Kotalik enjoyed his second consecutive two-goal game and Jason Pominville also scored for the Sabres.

Bruins 5, Lightning 3

TAMPA, Fla. — Glen Murray had two goals to lead Boston past Tampa Bay. The Lightning, who have lost four in a row and are last in the Eastern Conference, got goals from Mathieu Darche, Michel Ouellet and Vinny Prospal. Milan Lucic, Mark Stuart and P.J. Axelsson also scored for the Bruins.

Maple Leafs 3, Thrashers 1

TORONTO — Alex Steen and Nik Antropov had third-period goals for Toronto and Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin also scored in what could have been his final game for Toronto. It was the Maple Leafs’ last home game before Tuesday’s trade deadline and Sundin is expected to meet agent J.P. Barry in Ottawa on Sunday to discuss the no-movement clause in his contract that interim GM Cliff Fletcher wants him to waive.
