Authorities investigate
death of woman, 40

HOWLAND — A 40-year-old woman was found dead in a Stillwagon Road home Saturday.

Trumbull County 911 dispatchers received an emergency call from a man at 10:20 a.m. saying that a woman in his home was not breathing. The relationship between the two is not clear. Her identity has not been released.

The county coroner was on the scene Saturday, but investigators have not determined whether the death was accidental or intentional.

Investigators believe the woman’s body was transported from Campbell to Howland. The circumstances that led to her death are believed to have taken place in Campbell. Campbell officers refused to comment on the situation Saturday evening.

Cleanup at cemeteries in Youngstown, Canfield

The annual cleanup of Tod Homestead Cemetery in Youngstown and all cemeteries in Canfield will take place March 15. All decorations will be removed at this time. Anyone wishing to recover their decorations must do so before that date.

Can recycling drive
to help teen burn victim

WARREN — An aluminum can recycling drive will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 5 to defray medical costs for 16-year-old burn victim Douglas Coward of Newton Falls. He was severely injured in a 2004 house fire. Cans can be dropped off at the rear parking lot of Sorrento’s Restaurant, 2488 Parkman Road. Cat food cans must be separated because they are weighed on a difference scale. Pop tabs can also be dropped off for the National Kidney Foundation. For information, call (330) 399-4395.

Beautifying M. Ridge

MINERAL RIDGE — The Mineral Ridge Beautification Committee plans an Earth Day on April 19, starting at 9 a.m., with a rain date of April 26. Plans are to start at the Mineral Ridge Fire Station on Route 46, and those attending will be assigned an area. Part of bridge to reopen

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh bridge that was closed because of structural problems will partially reopen next month. Authorities say they will open one lane in each direction on the Birmingham Bridge starting March 3. The bridge’s other lanes will remain closed indefinitely. The bridge was closed Feb. 8 after part of a deck dropped nearly 8 inches. Crews plan to jack the dislodged section back into place Saturday.
