Protestant Family Service honors Burley


YOUNGSGTOWN — Jacqueline Burley was honored for 15 years as director of Protestant Family Service, 496 Glenwood Ave., during its annual dinner meeting held at First Presbyerian Church, 201 Wick Ave.

The Rev. Nick Mager of the church installed new board members, Paulette Brown, Karen Hanousek, the Rev. Gwendolyn Johnson and Mary Martin, and new committee member, Eric Batchler. Chuck Rudge, board chairman, thanked Burley, outgoing and previous board members, staff and volunteers for their commitment to PFS.

Spiritual musical selections were sung by Jim Locker with Verna Wylie as piano accompanist.

PFS is a nonprofit agency that provides monetary assistance with utilities, rent and medication and has an on-site food pantry. The agency receives donations from churches, church groups, individuals, organizations and grants to operate its ministry.
