A summary of recent criminal activity in Boardman:
Feb. 16
Theft: A Windel Way man reported the theft of approximately $100 from his car.
Theft: A girl, 17, and a 22-year-old woman, both of Youngstown, were charged. Both were accused of stealing two packages of photographs from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive, costing the business $81.70.
Vandalism: An employee with Simpson Motors, 7392 Southern Blvd., discovered someone had shot two windows on a vehicle.
Arrest: Officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Southwoods Drive and arrested a Canfield man, 27, upon learning he was wanted on a warrant from the county charging him with a probation violation.
Vandalism: Police found a BB pellet on nearby sidewalk after discovering someone had shot and shattered six windows at Doc’s Radio & TV, 6607 Market St. Damage was estimated at close to $3,000.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 52, faced charges of theft and receiving stolen property, accused of taking a men’s top coat and two pairs of jeans from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. He also was in possession of merchandise likely stolen from the J.C. Penney store, also in the mall, police said, and was wanted on a warrant charging him with theft.
Theft: A woman in a blue Pontiac pumped $50.36 worth of gasoline and left a Shell station, 1510 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying.
Theft: Two men stole 10 lens frames from Lens Crafters, 265 Boardman-Poland Road, before fleeing in a green vehicle. The theft came to around $1,600.
Feb. 17
Theft: Two Vienna girls, 15 and 16, were charged, accused of stealing $191.83 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart.
Criminal damaging: A woman reported a driver’s-side window to her father’s vehicle was broken in the 5500 block of Mill Creek Boulevard.
Domestic violence: A 20-year-old man was taken into custody at a township residence and charged after authorities responded to a fight between a boyfriend and girlfriend at a Mapleridge Drive home. The accuser alleged her boyfriend grabbed and pushed her to the ground during an argument.
Criminal damaging: A Larkridge Drive man reported driver’s-side windows were broken on vehicles belonging to him and his girlfriend.
Theft: Authorities charged a 33-year-old Niles man accused of removing a $289 roofing gun from Lowe’s, 1100 Doral Drive.
Criminal damaging: Two cars in the 40 block of Sciota Avenue sustained a damage total of $500. One had a driver’s-side window broken; the other had damage to its rear windshield.
Theft: A woman left in a vehicle after stealing five packages of meat from Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.
Criminal damaging: A Jackson Center, Pa., woman came out of a U.S. Route 224 business and saw that someone had used a key to damage her car’s finish.
Criminal damaging: A man reported a broken rear driver’s-side window on his car in the 800 block of Forestridge Drive.
Criminal damaging: Police found five vehicles with shattered windows, likely by BB pellets, in the 100 and 200 blocks of Oakley Avenue.
Vandalism: A man in the 800 block of Oakridge Drive reported a broken passenger-side window to his car.
Feb. 18
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s rear driver’s-side window was broken in the 100 block of Ridgewood Drive.
Criminal damaging: A car in the 700 block of Presidential Drive sustained $200 worth of damage after its rear windshield was broken.
Identity theft: An Austintown man discovered numerous charges on his credit report that he never made while living on West Boulevard and at another Boardman address.
Vandalism: A man in the 7700 block of Buchanon Drive noticed on his vehicle a shattered rear hatch window and a dented driver’s-side door.
Theft: Police arrested a 49-year-old Boardman man on a theft charge after $149 worth of items was taken from Wal-Mart.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Tanglewood Drive man reported his 2002 Pontiac was used without consent.
Criminal damaging: Two of a vehicle’s windows were broken, likely by a BB gun, in the 5800 block of Stillson Place. Damage came to $600.
Criminal damaging: A driver’s-side window and windshield were broken on a vehicle in the 700 block of Glenpark Road.
Feb. 19
Domestic violence: A 32-year-old Southern Boulevard man faced a felony domestic-violence charge after his fiancee and her son reported being victims. The woman had bruises as well as a mark on her chest and complained of pain in her head.
Bad check: An 18-year-old Boardman woman surrendered to police and was charged with passing a bad check after someone wrote a $22 check, later returned on a closed account, at a Southern Park Mall business.
Theft: Officers charged a Youngstown girl, 16, after three pieces of merchandise were stolen from Macy’s. She also faced one count of obstructing official business when, police said, she provided false information about her identity.
Fraud: A Melrose Avenue man reported being a victim, costing him $10,000.
