Dan Lowry is finalist in NASCAR contest

NEW WATERFORD — Dan Lowry is one of two finalists for the “Your Name Here 400” promotion, sponsored by Crown Royal.

The winner gets the naming rights to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway May 3.

Lowry received a trip to Las Vegas to participate in a deciding ceremony with Crown Royal-sponsored NASCAR driver Jamie McMurray, Crown Royal executives and the other finalist.

Crown Royal judged the finalists based on written submissions chronicling consumers’ fondest Crown Royal memories that were enjoyed in a responsible manner. Lowry’s entry recalled a homesick moment he had while working in Venezuela when he walked into a restaurant and didn’t recognize a single label except for one purple and gold logo.

He ordered a Crown Royal drink and suddenly didn’t feel so far from home.
