Curves of Poland joins food drive

POLAND — Curves of Poland, Center Road, will again be joining the World Wide Curves organization in its 10th Annual Food Drive.

Curves, the world’s largest fitness company, has promoted community involvement to every one of their more than 10,000 club franchisees. The founder of Curves stresses the need for the Curves clubs to go beyond their four walls to be a benefit to their community.

The last food drive collected nearly 11 million pounds of food donated to local food banks. Curves International has set a goal of 15 million pounds of food for this year.

The Poland Curves, from its beginning, has donated food to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. Last year, more than a half-ton of food was collected. The Poland Curves hopes to double that amount this year. The Curves in Boardman, Girard and Canfield will be joining Poland in giving all of their donations to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

Any women thinking about joining Curves can bring in a bag of groceries when joining and have the normal service fee reduced to only $30 between March 3 and March 15. Last year, a quarter of a million women joined Curves during the food drive.

Curves of Poland is also asking those who are not considering joining the club to bring in a bag of nonperishable groceries that will benefit the Rescue Mission. All donations will be eligible to win a $25 Sheetz gas card.
