64 clerk of courts workers get 3% raises

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County commissioners have approved a 3 percent pay increase retroactive to Jan. 1 for 64 unionized workers in the Mahoning County clerk of courts office.

With the increase in place, their hourly pay ranges from $11.05 for the lowest-paid file clerk to $17.99 for the highest-paid head bookkeeper.

The commissioners acted Wednesday.

The workers, who previously ratified the agreement in a wage reopener, belong to American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3956. Their three-year union contract expires at the end of this year.

The union represents clerks at the county courthouse, at the auto title department at the South Side Annex, and at county courts in Boardman, Austintown, Canfield and Sebring.
