Westminster 79, Bethany 77

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Sophomore Ryne Murray scored 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting, and he added 10 rebounds as Westminster (7-17, 5-7) clinched the No. 4 seed for next week’s Presidents’ Athletic Conference tournament. Craig Hannon (Union) added 20 points and David Richards (New Castle) scored 17. Brody Jackson led Bethany (15-9, 9-2) with 23 points, while Carey Palermo (Ursuline) and Petre Petkovski added 14 apiece.

Mount Union 72, Marietta 51

ALLIANCE — Chris Switzer led all scorers with 22 points, and Jay Mathis added 14, for the Purple Raiders (9-15, 6-11 Ohio Athletic Conference). Dave Pellerite also reached double figures, finishing with 11 points for Mount Union, which led 32-23 at halftime. Mike Faitgante had 10 points. Nathan Edick led Marietta (6-18, 2-15) with 17 points and Adam Rockhold scored 15.

Kenyon 93, Hiram 82

HIRAM — Chuck Williams had 15 points and five rebounds for Hiram in a North Coast Athletic Conference game. Ian Pfouts led Hiram with 16 points, while Mike Staley added 14 points and seven assists for the Terriers, who trailed 44-30 at halftime. Mike McDevitt (Lisbon) had 12 points for the game and surpassed 1,000 for his career. Bryan Yelvington led Kenyon with 34 points and nine rebounds. Kodey Haddox added 17 points and J.T Knight scored 11.

Slippery Rock 73, IUP 68

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Matt Schaefer tossed in 16 points to lead Slippery Rock (7-17, 4-5 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West). Darnell Johnson added 15 points for The Rock, which led 40-30 at halftime. Jamar Scales and Joseph Vines had 12 and 11 points, respectively. Gerald Brooks of Indiana (Pa.) led all scorers with 20 points. Sean Christiansen added 17 points for IUP (12-12, 4-5).

WOMEN

Bethany 53, Westminster 50

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Samantha Cartland made a three-point play with five seconds remaining to give Bethany the Presidents’ Athletic Conference win. Tara Harris finished with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Bison (15-9, 10-3), while Cartland had 12 points. Emilee Ackerman led Westminster (14-10, 7-7) with 20 points, and she had nine rebounds. Amy Dolsak (McDonald) finished with 13 points. Her 3-pointer with 26 seconds remaining tied the score at 50. Terese Marszalek finished with eight points and 15 rebounds for the Titans.

Geneva 62, Thiel 57

GREENVILLE, Pa. — Renee Rawding scored a game-high 22 points, and Allyson Clarke added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Tornadoes (20-4). For Thiel (7-16), Jasmin Jones finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds. Kim Stitt added 10 points for the Tomcats, who shot just 26 percent (16-of-62) from the field.

Mount Union 76, Marietta 44

MARIETTA — Twenty players got into the game for Mount Union (9-15, 6-11 Ohio Athletic Conference); Alicia Williams led the way with 13 points and Tessa Pohovey and Katie Crider added 10 apiece. Ashley Ross had 11 rebounds. Jamie Beckett scored 14 points for Marietta (5-18, 2-15), while Justine Pagenhardt had 11.

Kenyon 62, Hiram 50

GAMBIER — Jess Cowan scored 14 points and Alex Dellas had 10 points and seven rebounds for Hiram (5-17, 3-11) in a North Coast Athletic Conference game. Ally Cook also had seven rebounds for the Terriers, who trailed 31-17 at halftime. Patty Hace had 12 points to lead Kenyon (18-6, 15-0). Brittany Clair added 11 points, while Eva George and Anne Dugan scored 10 apiece.

IUP 71, Slippery Rock 59

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Nationally-ranked Indiana (Pa.) jumped out to a 34-19 halftime lead in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West game. Jahzinga Tracey led IUP (23-2, 8-1) with 18 points, while Kylie Miller and Hillary Shope added 14 apiece. Sandra Busser and Dana Stewart paced Slippery Rock (7-17, 1-8) with 12 points each. Haley Gaidosh added 11 and KellyAnn Staudinger had 10 points. Amanda Nero (Lowellville) finished with eight points and seven assists for The Rock.
